What is Passion Blogging?
Blogging about <insert subject here> is not just about writing about what you know or what you have experience in. It’s about keeping an ear to the ground and listening to others that are also interested in the subjects that you are, and putting forth the effort to answering the questions or solving the problems that are out there and regularly being asked by the rest of the world.
I could blog about blogging, or tweet about blogging, or blog about tweeting all day long, but how does that solve any of the problems out there that the people I’m targeting are running into? If all I want to do is teach someone about passion blogging and just simply have them repeat the same process I have, then what am I teaching anybody? All I’d be attempting to do is create clones and one of me is enough for this world.
It’s More Than Blogging Just to Blog
Anybody can start a blog, it’s almost a necessity to have one if you have Internet access at all. People can blog about anything that their heart desires…coffee, cigars, cars and about their own family. There is purpose behind these desires whether it be to get the word out on a new coffee blend to hit the market, finding a new cigar bar to check out or to keep the rest of the family updated on what’s been going on with the kids.
Purpose is a driving factor when it comes to writing for a reason.
There’s also the world of blogging for dollars, where people start up new blogs with the intention to make money from it. There’s nothing wring with this, but the world has become inundated with these blogs and they can sometimes cause a wave of negativity…such as, one bad apple to ruin the bunch, if you will. Sure, I’d love to make a healthy living from my own blogging efforts, but it’s not the end all of my blogging efforts, either.
Blogging vs. Successful Blogging
There is a distinct line drawn in the sand between being a ‘Blogger’ and a ‘Successful Blogger’.
- Blogger: Blogs to get their opinions out and leave it at that…hobby blogging, if you will.
- Successful Blogger: Defined by satisfying their purpose and fulfilling their own desire.
Again, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with either aspect of blogging. It’s proven that blogging in and of itself is not going anywhere, anytime soon as you visit more Internet sites, there are blogs all over them, even the news outlet sites are taking the blogging approach and they know it’s a prime medium to get their information out.
Passion Blogging
Passion blogging is a bit of a step up and although I’m not attempting to place negativity out in the blogosphere, I am willing to say that you can definitely tell when bloggers are blogging for self-gratification and when they are truly looking to enhance the lives of those investing the time on that blogger’s real estate.
Most times, information products are launched with a purpose to generate income, so some of these bloggers are truly looking to provide a product with the sole purpose of coaxing their readers to hand over the cash. This works for some, but not for others. There are also those bloggers that can also put out an information product, but the income is a by-product of the actual effort that have put into the work with a purpose to truly help others.
Help others first, help yourself later.
Whether you’re aiming to tug at the hearts of others which you can truly connect with and provide a solution for their specific challenge, or you wish to enhance the lives of others with really opening yourself up to become an authority and trustworthy individual, use that passion in your blogging efforts. People seek out blogs for many different reasons, but your goal should be that one blog in sea of many that ends up becoming a bookmark, a retweet or a new subscriber and not just another click-though to the next blog on the list.
